Anyone here played Ikaruga? It looks and sounds utterly fascinating (based on screenshots and art, because lol internet + Youtube) and seems more my thing than Touhou (I love me sum fighterplanes).

Okay so. Near my place, there's a shopping centre thing that's under renovation for more shops. For quite some time now, there've been signs up that there'll be an EB Games opening there! Well, today, I found out that they've just opened, so, naturally, I went down there to check it out. I was poking around the Wii and DS games sections, since my brother said to buy something I liked and send him the bill for my birthday, and spotted the collector's edition of the Metroid Prime Trilogy in it's extremely shiny glory.

It was $99.95.

I have never played a Metroid game for longer than 10 minutes.

... I bought it anyway.

I'm hoping it's well worth the cash, because I only had $5 left in my wallet. Afterwards, I went to the petrol station to refuel my car. I only wanted to fill up $20 worth, since I won't be driving around all that much these holidays. I get $50 from mum for the fuel since I'm so broke right now, so after I pay for the fuel, I put the change in my wallet, and when I get back in the car, I give her the money in my wallet. She checks the cash and says, "The guy gave us $5 extra change."

I look over, and sure enough, there's $35 change instead of the expected $30. So I go back to the guy at the cash register and hand him back the extra $5. The guy's (probably) manager gives me an appreciative look and a "Thanks for that!" and I cheerfully walk out and get back in my car.

I don't realise the mistake until I get home. The "extra" $5 was really the $5 I had left in my wallet after buying Metroid, and I'd given mum all the money in my wallet instead of just the change.

Ugh. A few days ago I was going to say something along the lines of YAY I AM GETTING BACK INTO RPING but just as quickly, I got distracted by MOTHER things and games. I've had way too many thoughts I wanted to write down, but the effort in doing so resulted in me not doing so. I can summarize my feelings of this week in :points.

The Awesome
+ Finished Kirby: Squeak Squad.
+ Marathoned all three big MOTHER radioplays (Fobbies are Borange, Loids are not Christmas, Tree of my Youth).
+ Felt like I want to be a part of the conglomerate of MOTHER fandom known as starmen.net.
+ Have many art ideas.
+ Started Shadow of the Colossus. Found it incredibly gripping. While my heart isn't quite into it yet (I'm only like 2 hours into the game), my body definitely feels the fear when Wander's hanging off the head of a colossus that's trying to shake him off. Also, the sheer size of them is terrifying, especially once they start attacking you as well. The game really does give you a great sense of something big, even while I'm playing on my small TV.
+ Got my hands on 358/2 Days after a lot of problems. Cannot stop playing 358/2 Days.
+ Went through the entirety of the Earthbound section in the Pit. Found some interesting stories.
+ Bought Brawl for $50 instead of the $80 offered at stores near me.
+ Started going through the SSB section of the Pit. Found a few cute things that reinforces the reasons why I find SSB interesting conceptually outside the arena. Also, Master Hand is always awesome, even when the rest of the fic is rather average.

The Not-So-Awesome
- Cannot join starmen.net because home internet does not allow me so. May not actually be a bad thing.
- Could not find energy to even sketch my art ideas.
- Cannot stop playing 358/2 Days.
- None of the MOTHER fic in the Pit really made me go "YES THIS IS AMAZING AND I WILL SPEND THE NEXT HOUR OF MY LIFE RE-READING THIS FOREVER" (although I was expecting this, sigh). A few things that were interesting conceptually but exectution didn't sit well with me. Also, Ness/Jeff mpreg.
- Still do not have a Wii.
- So much of the SSB fic is not relevant to my interests. The ones that were kind of made me :| after a few chapters (or a few paragraphs, in some cases). Also, surprisingly difficult to find 'day in the life' fic for SSB that doesn't just focus on a few characters.
- Still procrastinating on RP things. Interest levels are REALLY HIGH right now, especially with the Firetruck and Way events that are very relevant to my characters' interests. But it just happens that my interest levels in vidya games are at an all time high as well. Still feel bad that RP is the thing at the bottom of my hobby barrel.
- Did not get any uni work done. Doom meter is increasing at an exponential rate, but cannot motivate myself to reduce it. Why am I so stupid.

okay the number of DMW related dreams is getting a little ridiculous. I usually don't dream AT ALL, let alone dream on a particular topic three times in a row. Edit: FOUR times in a row.

1st one - I dreamt there was this tiny bit of Toto canon that I missed. I remember thinking, upon reading it, that it would be just enough to allow me to app him. Then I woke up )':

2nd one - I dreamt we had a Ganta in TST and was like omfg yesss (despite not recalling seeing an app in the modbox) a Ganta for Toto to play with !! And then I realised, wait a sec, I'm not playing Toto in TST yet. Then I realised, fuck, this is a dream. Then I woke up )':

4th one - I dreamt I woke up and checked Snoopy Cool's website, and saw Chapters 22 and 23 scanlated and uploaded. And was like GLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE even though Chapters 24 and 25 weren't translated yet. Then I woke up )': Then I checked the website, and there was no change )':

Also, PSA: Internet is being an incredible douche, and I am so ridiculously burnt out on Joshua it's not funny. I feel kind of bad to be inactive with him during Lunasa, especially since I want to be, but it feels unfun playing Joshua right now. Maybe it's because I feel like I've hit the peak of my playing ability for him, even though I know there's more things I can do to be better? Ehhh well, I hope not playing him for a week or two gets me out of this rut, because trolling people is still fun and that's something I can't do with Atsuro.

I just realised why my Personality section of my apps aren't as big as they could be. It's because half the personality ends up in the Weaknesses section. It's not necessarily a bad thing but still. moment of GJ self.

Additionally I was going to say something about how different canon mediums affect the ease of RPing but that is an essay for another time because I am too tired and I really have to stop doing procrastinating shit.

OKAY. I AM. SO DONE WITH MY DEADMAN WONDERLAND RAMPAGE. I'VE ALREADY EXHAUSTED THE LITTLE FANDOM THERE IS AND I'M NOT GOING TO MAGICALLY LEARN HOW TO READ KANJI. I AM OUT OF IDEAS (for now) SO THE RAMPAGE ENDS HERE.

Okay so. This has bugged me for a while about group logs, but man whenever I do them, I always feel like I'm third wheeling someone. I guess this kind of arises from my tendency to fixate so I kind of find it hard to give all the characters involved in a group log equal attention. And half the time I just. don't know what to say to the other one? IDKKK I just feel kind of bad about it.

Okay. So I just finished going through ALL of danbooru's P4 art. There was a lot of Naoto art. There was also a lot of naked Naoto stuff. And if Naoto wasn't naked, half the time Naoto was only half dressed B| Still, I have a new folder for P4 art and I love it.

( blahblahblah P4 stuff. Not a lot on characters in here. I have to stop mentally kyaa~ing every time Naoto appears. )

I was going to talk about interesting stuff like how frustrated I get with the concept of gender which I still do not understand and little anecdotes of my holiday and how suddenly I have a copy of DDR and a mat 3-5 years after I talked to mum about getting those and how I also have a copy of the Orange Box and StarCraft and other miscellaneous nothings (like how I have nfi what's going on in Serial Experiments Lain and how I suddenly want to watch Teen Titans and missed watching Darker than Black).

Instead, I want to punch myself for starting a boxing log with Gabe without having finished my research and oh god I have no idea what I'm doing ahhhhhhhh fighting logs AHHHHHHHHHH IT'S BOXING AND I'VE NEVER WRITTEN A FIST FIGHTER BEFORE.

If anyone has good videos of professional/ameteur boxing matches to show me, that would be great. I was planning on watching a bunch on Youtube or something when I get home.
